2003 Hearl Reunion

The 2002 Hearl, Heral and related families reunion is now history. We hope you will plan to attend in 2003.
This was our 36th year for the Hearl & Related families Reunion and it was attended by about 150 family members and friends.. We had food galore as it was a combined cookout and covered dish dinner.
Nelson Lee Hearl, son of G. Lee and Virginia Hearl manned the grill. Everyone pitched in to prepare the tables, chopping onions, slicing home grown tomatoes etc.
After the dinner we were entertained by a former Barter actor who read and acted a story and poem.
G. Lee Hearl presented the Hearl Genealogy and answered question concerning the family. Some pictures and other information was available for those who were interested..
The children of Paul Hearl presented a program "This is Your Life" in honor of his 80th birthday..
G. Lee "Bud" Hearl did some of his songs and had the audience singing along with his "Biscuit Bakin' Baby".
Danny Hearl presented a magic show and was a hit of the evening!
The Candle Lighting Ceremony was performed at 9:30 PM and several family members were remembered.
The Blue Grass group of Tommy "Doc" Hearl, Dom McManus, Joe Hearl, Don Hearl and Dewey Joe Hearl with a little help by Bud Hearl on fiddle took to the stage and entertained for an hour or so then Doc Hearl presented several of his original songs. The show wound down at 11:30 PM and everyone headed for home..

The Hearl and Related Families Reunion began in 1966 and for several years was held at the Greendale School adjoining the Hearl-Hagy Cemetery and the Albert D. Hearl farm. The 2002 reunion marked our 36th year. Below are some pictures taken in 2001 and 2002. Enjoy!

Several members of the Hearl and Related Families are musicians and enjoy performing at our reunions, of course you don't have to be a musician to take part in the entertainment, we have Storytellers, Magicians and comedy skits.

Queenie & Spud Do their Thing!
This pair performs each Saturday night at the Starlight Grill near where they live, or at least that what they told us when they auditioned for the reunion performance!
They have a very good Act!
